Kuent App - Privacy Policy

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Kuent App collects, uses, and protects personal information.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide may include name or nickname, email address, phone number, profile photo, financial records entered into the App, images of receipts, and audio recordings used for expense recognition. Automatically collected data may include device information, IP address, operating system, session data, crash reports, advertising-related events, subscription status, and usage analytics.
Some features store information locally on your device. Quick Split data, including local participants, expenses, balances, settlements, and Multi Invoice data saved into a Quick Split, is currently stored in a local JSON file tied to the authenticated Kuent profile on that device. It is not synced to our backend unless a future backup or sync feature is released and enabled.
If you grant contacts permission, the App may read contacts from your device to help you invite people or share Quick Split summaries. Contact data is used for those features and may be sent to our backend only when needed to resolve invite matches or create invitations. Quick Split SMS sharing opens your messaging app with a prepared message; Kuent does not send the SMS automatically.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information to provide the Service, enable shared groups, enforce permissions and access controls, analyze usage, improve features, detect fraud or abuse, process subscription payments, provide advertising or rewarded-ad grants for eligible free features, and provide AI recognition features. We do not sell personal data.
4. AI Processing
Images and audio submitted for recognition may be processed by third-party AI services to extract structured expense information. Users should review generated results for accuracy. Features with direct processing costs, such as Multi Invoice scan and voice recording, may be subject to plan-based limits.
5. Data Sharing
Information may be shared with users in shared groups, service providers, payment processors, advertising providers, AI processing providers, analytics/crash reporting providers, or when required by law. Shared ledger records may be visible to active members of that ledger according to their role and the App's access rules.
Quick Split data is local to your device and profile by default. Other Kuent users do not receive Quick Split data through Kuent unless you manually share a summary, for example by SMS or another external sharing method.
6. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries outside your own. Safeguards are implemented to comply with international privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD.
7. Data Retention
User data is retained while the account remains active. Analytics logs may be stored for up to three months before being aggregated or deleted. Shared records may remain visible to other participants even if a user deletes their account.
Local device data, including Quick Split JSON files, may remain on the device until you delete it in the App, clear app data, uninstall the App, or restore/remove device backups. Logging out prevents another Kuent profile in the App from loading that profile's Quick Splits, but it does not necessarily erase the local file from the device.
8. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, or request portability of your data. Requests can be sent to support@studioblls.com.
9. Security
We implement security measures including encryption in transit, authentication systems, database access controls, row-level security policies, and scoped storage rules. However, no system or local device storage is completely secure.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13. If such data is discovered it will be deleted.
